Featured Sushi Lover – Lori from Atlanta

This week’s Sushi Lover-Girl is Lori, currently in Atlanta, Georgia. I had the pleasure of converting Lori from a sushi hater to a sushi lover.  Be sure to check out Lori’s blog  at http://lovelamps.blogspot.com.  Lori’s blog is dedicated to all things beautiful, especially from the UK and Ireland.

First Name: Lori   Occupation:  Attorney (I play one on TV)      City/State/Country: I wish I were in London, UK but am currently stuck in Atlanta, GA

How long ago did you begin eating sushi? Approximately 2 years ago

How were you introduced to sushi?  I was informally introduced to sushi via a really bad restaurant in my office building in 1999.  I was officially introduced to sushi again years later by Sushi Aficionado, MakiMom, who trained me in the art of sushi eating.

Did you like sushi the first time you tried it?  No way!  I’m Southern and we don’t eat anything that’s not fried.

If not, when/how did you start to like it?  Did you know you can get fried sushi?  As soon as they told me that, I was hooked.  I’ve developed my tastes since then, but still love a Shrimp Tempura roll

How often do you eat sushi?  Weekly  How often would you like to eat sushi?  Weekly

What is your favorite (or favorites) sushi?  Right now, I’m a Spicy Salmon girl although I am a big fan of the Crunchy roll at Shout!

What is your favorite sushi restaurant?  Why?  Well that’s a tough question.  My favorite sushi restaurant in   Phoenix was Ichiban because it was within walking distance of my office and I shared many a wonderful lunch with some of my favorite people there.  My favorite sushi restaurant in San Josewas Shabu Shabu.  I used to live within walking distance and always got fast, fresh sushi.  In Atlanta, Shout! is my favorite sushi restaurant – you guessed it, I can walk to it from my condo or my office.  Sushi must be within walking distance at all times.

What is your most memorable sushi experience? My most memorable sushi experience was my first sushi lesson with MakiMom and her daughter Abby.

Where is the most unusual or exotic place/city you’ve eaten sushi?  I guess I’m a traditional sushi eater, because I’ve never eaten sushi anywhere exotic.

Have you converted/introduced anyone to sushi? How many people?  No one yet, but I have time!

What was your score on the “Are you really a sushi lover” test?http://sushiloversunite.com/2008/11/13/are-you-really-a-sushi-lover/ Yes or No (comments welcome) – do you enjoy:
